Votto will be on the WBC roster

GOODYEAR, Ariz. — Joey Votto will be on the roster for the Canadian team in the World Baseball Classic.
That does not mean he will definitely play.
“As far as playing, I’m going to have to wait until the day before to decide,” Votto said.
Rosters were due today.
Johnny Cueto said he was sure whether he’d play for the Dominican.
“I don’t know,” he said. “Maybe no.”
Alfredo Simon is playing for the Dominican. He and Brandon Phillips are only two players from big league camp who are definitely playing. Phillips leave March 3.
